Rose Bouquet

IMG_0319

Hopefully everyone had a lovely Valentine’s Day. The aftermath of Valentine’s Day is that now I have multiple arrangements of flowers in my apartment which can be a little overwhelming and look cluttered. Instead of keeping separate bouquets, lets combine them into a smaller, coffee table centerpiece.

You’ll Need:

an assortment of flowers

short, round vase

scissors

water

First, measure the vase’s height. Add about 2-3 inches and cut your flower that length. Cut at a 45 degree angle and if possible, you’ll want to cut the stem just above a node, the little knot where the leaves attach themselves to the stem. This way, the flowers can drink water more easily.

Fill your vase with water, about half way. Make the flowers at the top of the arrangement a little taller than those around the edge to give the arrangement some height. If possible, try not to put two flowers of the same color next to each other. If you are using only one or two colors of flower, like I did, then try to mix the colors evenly.

Once you’re done, find a lonely table or surface to place your arrangement. And, enjoy the lovely scent and atmosphere that fresh flowers give your home.
