My friend Mimi made a similar sangria at a housewarming party. It was too delicious to be alcoholic, but it was deceiving. Her sangria made for a fun afternoon and so I tried a few recipes of my own. This is my favorite so far. Its perfect for afternoon BBQs or lazy days by the pool.
1- 750ml bottle of cheap white wine
3/4 cup white rum
3/4 cup triple sec
1 orange, juiced
1 apple, cored and sliced
2 handfuls strawberries, sliced
In a pitcher pour the wine, rum, and triple sec. Stir. Add the juice of 1 orange. Stir. Add apple and strawberries. Place in refrigerator for 4-36 hours. The longer the fruit has to soak in the drink, the better the flavors. Once ready, add ice to a glass and pour the sangria. Top off with a splash of lemon-lime soda and enjoy your refreshing treat!
